At KSU, we believe there is no substitute for the global enrichment provided by geographic, ethnic, racial, religious, and cultural diversity. If you’re an international student planning on applying to KSU, you should plan to have all documents in at least one month before the published deadline for your selected program. International students must meet basic international admissions requirements for their classification, and you may have additional requirements based on visa type, country of origin, and educational history.

You are considered an international student if you meet the following criteria:

      • You are not a US citizen or permanent resident
      • You live outside the US and will require an F-1 visa to study in the US
      • You currently live in the US on a non-immigrant visa (B1, F2, J1, J2, G, or H1, etc.)
      • You are in the process of applying for Permanent Residency status but have not yet received your Permanent Residency card

 

Requirements for F-1, J-1, H1-B, or Permanent Resident Alien (Green Card Holder)

  1. Completed online Graduate Application for Admission to KSU
  2. Non-refundable $60 application processing fee, payable to Kennesaw State University
  3. Official transcripts from each college or university attended. Official transcripts are in a sealed envelope from the institution
  4. Official Evaluation of all foreign transcripts is required. Transcripts may be evaluated by one of the following agencies 
    1. Evaluations must include course-by-course and a calculation of your GPA. The evaluation must come to us in a sealed envelope or electronically directly from the agency
      1. Evaluation Service, Inc.
      2. Josef Silny & Associates, Inc.
      3. World Education Services (WES)
      4. SpanTran: The Evaluation Company; KSU Link for Request
  5. Test of English Proficiency
    1. Applicants from the following countries are exempt from the English Language Proficiency requirement: Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Ghana, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Liberia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tobago, Trinidad, United Kingdom, United States or Zimbabwe
    2. Applicants who have graduated from a college or university in the United States accredited in a manner accepted by Kennesaw State University are exempt from the English Language Proficiency requirement.  
    3. Applicants not exempt by A or B above can take either of the following tests:
      1. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Minimum required score:  Internet version (iBT) - 80 
      2. International English Language Testing System (IELTS)*  Minimum required score: 6.5
  6. Copy of your Visa or Resident Alien Card (Green Card)
  7. Additional documents as required by the specific program you are applying to

If you have a non-immigrant visa other than F-1, J-1, or H-1B (such as L, E, A, K, B, etc.), please contact the Office of Graduate Admissions so an admissions officer can determine your admission requirements and enrollment eligibility.

Foreign Credential Evaluations

Foreign credentials refer to transcripts from educational institutions outside the United States. All applicants (domestic and international) with foreign credentials are required to submit an official evaluation. An official evaluation is a review of your academic documents to provide U.S. equivalency. The Graduate College accepts official evaluations from the agencies listed below. Evaluations must include course-by-course and a calculation of your GPA. Evaluations must come to us in a sealed envelope or electronically directly from the agency.

English Proficiency

Below are the various methods you can use to meet the English Proficiency requirement for admission.

  1. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Minimum required score (iBT Internet version): 80
  2. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Minimum required score: 6.5
