Lead in Public Service and Nonprofit Organizations
The Master of Public Administration (MPA) is a professional degree for those pursuing leadership and managerial positions in governmental agencies and nonprofit organizations. Kennesaw State, located just north of Atlanta, Georgia, has offered an MPA program for over 30 years, and it is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration.

What is the purpose of an MPA?
A Master of Public Administration (MPA) prepares professionals to lead and manage initiatives in government, nonprofit organizations, and public-private partnerships that serve communities and advance public policy. -
Are dual degree options available?
Three MPA dual degree options are offered:
- MPA/Master of Science in Criminal Justice
- Master of Business Administration/MPA
- MPA/Master of Arts in Integrated Global Communication (MAIGC).

Does this program offer internships?
Students can earn academic course credit for public service/nonprofit internships that open networking opportunities and form the building blocks for the next step in your career. Students who wish to complete an internship may work with the program director to identify an appropriate, graduate-level internship for course credit. -
Are there financial assistance options?
A limited number of Graduate Research Assistantships, which include tuition benefits and a stipend, are available to qualified students. The Edwards Scholarship is also awarded to selected MPA students each year. -
What concentration options does this program offer?
There are three concentration options available: Information Systems Administration; Nonprofit Administration; or State, Local, and Regional Administration.
You can choose from those three concentrations, or a combination of courses which total 12 credit hours, that best fit your career plans.

- Convenience: One night a week in-person classes are available. Selected online and hybrid courses are also offered.
