The MSW program prepares you for clinical and nonclinical practice through evidence-based learning and hands-on field experience. Choose the traditional two-year track or accelerate your degree with the Advanced Standing option, allowing qualified Bachelor's of Social Work graduates to finish in just one year.

Is the MSW program accredited?
Yes. The program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Because of this accreditation, MSW graduates are eligible to take the Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) exam. You may also pursue further clinical supervision requirements to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Only alumni of accredited social work graduate programs are eligible to pursue this licensing or to be called a social worker. -
Are there dual-degree or certificate options?
Yes. KSU offers a dual MSW/MBA—Georgia’s first—which prepares graduates for leadership roles in corporate, nonprofit, and public sectors.
The interdisciplinary Graduate Certificate in Social Entreneurship addresses social entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, and innovation to address complex societal, health, or environmental issues.

What are the admission requirements?
GPA of 3.0, letters of recommendation, and writing sample. -
What field experience is required?
Students complete 12 credit hours of supervised field practicum in Atlanta‑area agencies, gaining hands‑on clinical experience.
