MSW Program Tracks and Pathways

Traditional MSW Track

The Traditional MSW track is designed for students without a CSWE-accredited bachelor's degree in Social Work. This two-year, 60-credit-hour program will prepare you for entry-level professional social work practice through coursework and supervised field education.

Advanced Standing MSW Track

The Advanced Standing MSW Track allows qualified students with a CSWE-accredited bachelor's degree in Social Work to complete the graduate degree in one year. This accelerated, 36-credit-hour option builds on prior undergraduate preparation and reduces both time and tuition.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. The program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Because of this accreditation, MSW graduates are eligible to take the Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) exam. You may also pursue further clinical supervision requirements to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).  Only alumni of accredited social work graduate programs are eligible to pursue this licensing or to be called a social worker.
  • Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, submit letters of recommendation, and complete a required writing sample.
  • Students complete 12 credit hours of supervised field practicum in Atlanta‑area agencies, gaining hands‑on clinical experience.
