Top 10 Reasons to Transfer to KSU

Check out the reasons listed below to see why KSU is the top destination for transfer students in Georgia.

  • KSU’s tuition and fees are very competitive when compared to other Georgia universities, but you can do a lot to reduce your college investment:

    • File your FAFSA early each year. Work closely with the Office of Student Financial Aid to ensure you receive the maximum aid for which you qualify.
    • If you have been admitted to KSU, you'll only need to fill out one form to apply for internal and external scholarships via ScholarshipUniverse – the internal application is available for most scholarships from Nov. 1 to March 1. External scholarships can be searched for year-round.
    • Work with your academic advisor and carefully plan your class schedule each term so your courses align with your degree requirements.
    • Take online courses. See why below. Online Learning at KSU
    • Work on campus. Each year, hundreds of Federal Work Study positions are advertised on Handshake for students.  You can earn money as you gain valuable work experience and develop your skills.
    • Shop carefully for books, parking, meals, housing, activities and other variable price items. For more money management ideas
  • KSU has two campuses, one on Chastain Road in Kennesaw, Georgia, and one on South Marietta Parkway in Marietta, Georgia. Both are only minutes north on I-75 from Atlanta, so you can benefit from the major city’s many professional, cultural, and entertainment opportunities.
  • KSU has articulation agreements with selected institutions so you can be confident that your qualified course credits will transfer from those institutions and/or programs. KSU has core curriculum agreements with other University System of Georgia (USG) schools, Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) schools, and several other pathways. See Articulation and Transfer Agreements.
  • You can get an idea of how your coursework will transfer into KSU even before you enroll. Use the Course Transfer Search Engine any time (24/7/365) to explore course equivalency.

You can also get your transcript evaluated prior to being accepted by attending a transfer event or contacting the Transfer and Adult Admissions Services office at transfer@kennesaw.edu.

After acceptance, Transfer Evaluation Services, a division of the Registrar’s Office, will award relevant transfer credit to your selected degree program.

  • As a transfer student, you have different questions and concerns than a traditional incoming freshman so sign up to attend a transfer information session, open house, tour or orientation session.

  • KSU offers more than 190 degrees and certificates, including 95 undergraduate degrees and certificates, and almost the same number graduate and doctoral degrees and certificates. You’ll be able to transfer courses to KSU and finish a relevant bachelor’s degree that fits your interests, skills and desired lifestyle. See KSU’s undergraduates degrees.
  • Kennesaw State University offers fully online degree programs, certificate programs, hybrid online programs and a large selection of courses in online and mixed-model versions. Designed and taught by KSU faculty, online learning at KSU offers high-quality degree options with online convenience and flexibility. Kennesaw State’s online programs are ranked among the nation’s best by U.S. News & World Report. See Online Learning at KSU.
  • Since KSU's application deadlines are later than many schools, you can, in most cases, include your grades from your most recent term in your KSU application.

Also there's no restriction to transfer if you have less than 30 hours.  The only difference is that you'll be applying as a transfer freshman and will need to meet freshman admissions requirements to be accepted.  View Admissions Requirements
