For over 25 years, the Master of Science in Conflict Management program has been preparing students to identify and pursue career opportunities in this innovative and exciting field. 

 

Specializations

During the MSCM program, students may choose to pursue a specialization in one of two tracks. These are optional specializations that students may complete as part of their study. In order to complete a specialization, students must choose the particular courses related to the specialization during their course registration each semester.

The Justice and Organizations Specialization

The Justice and Organizations Specialization provides students training in skills related to organizational conflict prevention and engagement, and dispute resolution. This specialization is well-suited for those students interested in working in domestic court systems, and in public, private, and non-profit sectors.

The International Conflict Management Specialization

The International Conflict Management Specialization provides students knowledge and skills development for working effectively in international settings, such as non-governmental organizations (NGOs), conflict and peacebuilding contexts, and international corporate environments.

Field Study

A hallmark of the M.S. in Conflict Management program is the field study that students perform in their final semester of the program. This experience affords students the opportunity to apply their skills and their knowledge to a specific chosen conflict or peace environment. The field study prepares them to face the complex challenges of our world. Students choose an area of the field to either (a) research, (b) intern, or (c) develop and deliver a curriculum or training.
