Connecting Our Guests to Research and Resources

Kennesaw State University’s Library System is more than a place to borrow books—it’s a resource-rich destination open to our local community, visiting scholars, alumni, and guests. With two campus library locations—Sturgis Library in Kennesaw and Johnson Library in Marietta—visitors can explore collections, use technology, and access research tools designed to inspire discovery.

Whether you are conducting scholarly research, seeking a quiet space to read, or accessing technologies, the KSU Library System offers the tools and support you need to explore, learn, and connect.

Community and Guest Borrowing

KSU Libraries offer borrowing privileges for community members, alumni, and aspiring scholars. Residents of Georgia over the age of 18 may request a community borrower's card which provides limited borrowing privileges to the general collection. Learn more about how to apply for a library card, borrowing limits, and renewal options when checking out materials from our libraries.

Borrowing Guidelines for Guests:

  • Loan Period: Most books can be borrowed for two weeks with (2) two-week renewals allowed, if not requested by another patron.
  • Borrowing Limit: Up to 5 items at a time for community borrowers; alumni may have different limits.
  • Special Materials: DVDs, reserves, and certain technology items are not available for checkout to guest cardholders.
  • Account Access: Renew items in person or by phone. Late returns may result in fines or borrowing suspension.
  • How to Get a Community Borrower Card: Apply in person at either library’s service desk. Bring a valid government-issued ID and proof of Georgia residency, or KSU alumni status.
