Community and Guest Borrowing

KSU Libraries offer borrowing privileges for community members, alumni, and aspiring scholars. Georgia residents over 18 can request a community borrower's card with limited borrowing. Learn more about how to apply for a library card, borrowing limits, and renewal options when checking out materials.

Borrowing Guidelines for Guests:

  • Loan Period: Most books can be borrowed for two weeks with (2) two-week renewals, if not requested by another.
  • Borrowing Limit: Up to 5 items at a time for community borrowers; alumni may have different limits.
  • Special Materials: DVDs, reserves, and some technologies are not available for guests.
  • Account Access: Renew items in person or by phone. Late returns may result in fines or borrowing suspension.
  • How to Get a Community Borrower Card: Apply in person at either library’s service desk. Bring your government-issued ID and proof of Georgia residency, or KSU alumni status.
