WELCOME

Welcome to Kennesaw State University, a first-choice destination campus for an increasing number of high school seniors. One contributing factor to this increase is our transformation into a full-fledged residential campus. In fall of 2009 we enrolled a record 22,300 students.

Amidst this transformation we also continue to elevate our academic offerings. Over the past year, we added two new master’s degrees, a bachelor’s degree, and another doctoral program, positioning the university as an attractive option to an ever-growing population of students. More programs in high-demand areas at all levels also are on the way.

As KSU expands its programs and facilities, we also are expanding our horizons. We continue to forge partnerships abroad, providing students, faculty and staff with opportunities to study and teach abroad. A Board of Regents report released this past year reported that participation by Kennesaw State students in study-abroad programs grew by a dramatic 142 percent over five years, ranking fourth in study-abroad program enrollment among USG institutions.

Looking ahead, we are committed to leading in higher education. Our $60 million Health Sciences Building, presently under construction and slated to open in 2010, will help us graduate more nurses and other health professionals. The Joe Mack Wilson Annex has been added, giving us the ability to expand our arts program. And a new lab sciences building slated for the College of Science and Math will solidify KSU’s position as the largest producer of highly qualified science and math teachers in the state.

It is an exciting time at KSU as this great institution moves forward. I hope you will join us in our journey as we transform, elevate and lead.

President
Daniel S. Papp, Ph.D.
