Mission

The Cultural Awareness and Resource Center uses engaging student programs to create and sustain an inclusive environment that promotes educational excellence through multicultural experiences. The Cultural Awareness and Resource Center sponsors academic, cultural, leadership, and social programs that enrich the educational experience of all Kennesaw State University Students, with an emphasis on topics of race and ethnicity.  

Vision

The Vision of the Cultural Awareness and Resource Center is to provide a platform for holistic development and success for all students at Kennesaw State University. The Cultural Awareness and Resource Center facilitates holistic development and success for students by offering the following services and resources: 

  • Events, Programs, and Activities
  • African American Student Alliance
  • KSU African American Male Initiative (AAMI)
  • Heritage Month Celebrations

Our Space

We are a place where we acknowledge and embrace cultural differences, facilitate intercultural conversations, and ultimately create an environment in which our campus community becomes culturally competent and socially just. Please feel free to visit us, we are located in the Carmichael Student Center in Room 262.

  • The conference space is an area where students can hold formal or informal meetings. The conference space can be reserved through the CARC receptionist. 

  • The Cultural Awareness and Resource Center offers computers for students to complete course assignments. All computer stations are first come first serve. 

  • The lounge is comprised of the study space and social space. The study space is an area where students can come and study individually or in a group setting. In the social space, you can find students discussing similar courses, pop culture, sports, and fashion.
