Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership

The Doctorate (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership is a 45+ hour post-masters professional degree uniquely crafted for experienced educators. The program will be delivered through a combination of on-campus seminars, school/district-based performance, and online learning experiences. Our goal is to develop school leaders who integrate thoughtful, globally-minded leadership practices with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions of effective educational leaders.

The Educational Leadership degree will prepare you to critically review and construct knowledge in educational policy, data analysis and educational planning in conjunction with educational theory through discourse-rich coursework and field-centered projects. Graduates of the Educational Leadership degree will be prepared to lead change and develop organizations to effectively succeed in a global educational context.

Note: You must have a Georgia PL-6 certification or L-6 certification or comparable certificate from another state to be accepted into the Educational Leadership degree program.

Admission Requirements

  • Online Graduate Application - There is a non-refundable $60 application fee.
  • Transcripts - Official transcripts from EACH College and/or University you have attended. Must be in a sealed envelope from the institution or sent electronically from the institution directly to ksugrad@kennesaw.edu.
  • Clear Renewable Georgia Teaching Certificate - you MUST hold a PL6 or L6, or Tier II Leadership certification or comparable certificate from another state PRIOR to admission consideration. To print a copy of your Georgia clear, renewable certificate, you may log onto www.gapsc.com
  • Resume or Professional Vitae - Can be uploaded into the online application. 
  • Professional Reflections Statement - Can be uploaded into the online application. Should be 1-2 pages and address your professional leadership training and interest, educational beliefs, professional goals, and why you seek to pursue your degree at KSU.
  • Interview - An interview may be required. If so, you will be contacted by the program to set up an interview.
  • Current full-time employment as a professional educator with at least five years of teaching and/or administrative experience in P-12 education.
