Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences

The Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences at Kennesaw State University is a modern, career-focused doctoral program designed to prepare the next generation of biomedical scientists for leadership roles in industry, government, healthcare, and research. KSU’s program emphasizes practical, hands-on training and direct engagement with Georgia’s rapidly growing life sciences and biotechnology sectors. Students in the program will develop advanced expertise in areas such as molecular and cellular biology, disease modeling, drug discovery, bioinformatics, translational research, and biomedical data analysis. In addition, every student will complete an immersive internship with biomedical, pharmaceutical, diagnostic, or biotechnology partners, gaining direct experience in applied research, product development, regulatory science, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Finally, students will have opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge scientific discoveries while learning how biomedical innovation moves from the laboratory into clinical and commercial applications.
