And life, for most people, would be a little easier with a $654 million cushion.
That’s what the Mega Millions jackpot has grown to after nearly three months without a winner.
The jackpot is the second largest in Mega Millions history and it’s expected to grow even bigger by Tuesday night's drawing.
But don’t get your hopes up.
The odds of winning the jackpot are about 1 in 300 million — 1 in 302,575,350 to be exact, according to Joe DeMaio, a professor of mathematics and data science at Kennesaw State University.
