IECP International Admissions Requirements

As an IECP partner, we are committed to supporting you and your students throughout the admissions process and helping ensure a smooth transition to Kennesaw State University (KSU) as an international student.

Below is an overview of the admissions process for you and your students:

Complete the IECP Inquiry Form
The IECP partner must complete and submit the inquiry form on behalf of the student.
Please note: If the IECP Inquiry Form is not submitted and on file prior to the student applying to KSU, there is no guarantee that the vendor will be eligible for a commission for that student.

Fill Out the IECP Inquiry Form
Student Receives Application Instructions
After the IECP Inquiry Form is submitted, the student will receive an email titled “Start Your Journey at KSU Today” with instructions on how to begin the undergraduate application process.
Student Submits the KSU Application
After the student applies to KSU, they will receive an email titled “We Have Your Application!” with information about checking their application status and submitting any required documents, such as test scores and proof of English proficiency.
Student Is Admitted to KSU
Once admitted, the student will receive an email titled “Next Steps for International Accepted Students – KSU.” This email will provide information about:

- Submitting the Intent to Enroll Form
- Completing the I-20 and visa process
- Applying for on-campus housing
- Submitting immunization documentation
- Student Health Insurance
- Registering for international student orientation
- Completing other required next steps for enrollment

International Admission Requirements:

International students must meet basic international admission requirements for their classification, and you may have additional requirements based on visa type, country of origin, and educational history.

You should apply for International Admission if you are:

Not a U.S. Citizen.
Currently in the U.S. on an F-1 (student) visa.
Currently living outside the U.S. and will require an F-1 visa to study in the United States.
Currently in the U.S. on any other class of visa.
In the process of applying for Permanent Residency status but have not yet received the Permanent Residency card.
Received a Permanent Residency card.
Have been educated outside of the U.S.

You should apply for International Freshman Admission if you:

Are a senior in high school, graduating in the spring, or
Recently graduated high school and have not enrolled in another college or university after graduating

You should apply for International Transfer- Freshman Admission if you:

Attended another college and have earned fewer than 30 semester hours or 50 quarter hours of transferrable college credit

You should apply as an International Transfer Admission student if you:

Graduated from high school five years ago or more, or
Have attended another college and earned 30 semester hours or 50 quarter hours of transferrable college credit

Freshman/Transfer Freshman Admissions Requirements

GPA Requirement

3.0 GPA Required for Fall 2027 Admission

Beginning Fall 2027, first-year students must meet a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be considered for admission to Kennesaw State University.

2.5 GPA Required for Spring and Summer 2027 Admission

Students applying for Spring 2027 and Summer 2027 can be admitted under the current GPA requirement of 2.5 or greater.

Through Summer 2027: Graduation from high school with GPA of 2.5 with qualifying SAT/ACT test scores.

Fall 2027 and Beyond: Graduation form high school with GPA of 3.0 with qualifying SAT/ACT/CLT test scores.

If educated outside of the United States, the required official evaluation must indicate GPA.

Testing Requirements

Kennesaw State accepts either the SAT or the ACT for freshmen and transfer freshmen applicants. Scores from the ACT and the SAT will not be mixed together. Applicants must meet minimum* English/Critical Reading and Math section requirements.

Test scores are required at Kennesaw State University for first-year applicants.

ACT: 18 - English or Reading | 18 Math

SAT: 500 - Evidence Based Reading and Writing | 490 Math Section Score

CLT: 39 - Verbal and 16 - Math

Architecture Degree Program Applicants

Please note that there are higher admissions requirements for the Architecture Degree program and seats are limited. Applicants are encouraged to complete their application and submit all required documents by January 31 for admission the following fall semester.

Testing FAQs

Is KSU test-optional?

No. First-Year students applying to Kennesaw State University are required to submit official SAT or ACT scores along with official high school transcripts.
Are standardized SAT or ACT test scores required for admissions?

Yes. First-Year students applying to Kennesaw State University are required to submit official SAT or ACT scores along with official high school transcripts.
Can I self-report my scores on my application?

Yes. You may enter your scores on the application, but we will require official scores sent directly from the testing agency before we can make a final admissions decision. Please be sure to send your test scores prior to the admissions deadline.
Do I need to submit official SAT or ACT scores if I have completed some college coursework?

Yes. You will need to submit official test-scores if you have completed less than 30 transferable credit hours of coursework.
How do I submit official test scores?

Official scores must be submitted electronically by the respective testing agency. Use the following school codes to submit your official test scores:

Does Kennesaw State University superscore?

For the SAT, we will take the highest Evidence-based Reading & Writing section and Mathematics section if there is more than one set of scores.

For the ACT, we will take the highest ACT English or Reading and ACT Math scores if there is more than one set of scores.

KSU doesn’t superscore SAT with ACT scores.

Submit your application and $40 fee online by the deadline posted for your desired semester of entry.
Submit official transcripts of ALL your high school or post-secondary records (if any).

Cumulative 2.0 GPA on all college coursework attempted.
*Architecture Degree transfer applicants are required to have a minimum 2.5 college GPA as recalculated by KSU

CREDIT

At least 30 transferable semester credit hours or 50 transferable quarter hours.

Please note: If students attended a college/university outside the United States, they must provide a course-by-course evaluation, which must demonstrate university-level coursework equivalency in the United States for at least 30 semester hours of credit.

Validation of English Proficiency

We want you to succeed and grow while at KSU. It is essential to contribute in the classroom and engage with the campus community. Thus, we ask non-native speakers to validate their English proficiency when applying to KSU. See the list of English-speaking countries that are exempt from the English proficiency requirement.

Conditional Acceptance

To gain full admission to a KSU degree program, students must demonstrate English proficiency as per the above chart. Students may fulfill this requirement by fully enrolling in KSU's Intensive English Program (IEP). During this time, international students are given an I-20 for Language Training.

Students who plan to enroll at KSU in an undergraduate academic program after completing the IEP may apply for Conditional Admission while enrolled in the IEP. If students receive Conditional Admission, they will receive a Conditional Admission letter for their records and Visa application.

Upon successfully completing the highest level of the IEP and receiving an IEP Certificate of Completion, Conditional Acceptance to KSU will be reviewed for Full Acceptance. Only then students will be considered to have met the English Language Proficiency requirement, so that they can enroll in the university and request an I-20 into an undergraduate degree program.
