David R. Walens

David Walens is a seasoned entrepreneur and strategic leader with over 40 years of experience developing and scaling innovative businesses. Most recently, David served as the CEO and Co-Founder of Exploring Digital and Chairman of Exploring, Inc., the parent company to a portfolio of trailblazing Atlanta-based firms including ID3 Group, Brumark, and Exploring Graphics. Under his leadership, the enterprise grew to over 200 employees, operated out of 151,000 square feet of fabrication space, and earned a spot on the Inc. 500/5000 list of fastest-growing private companies six times and the Georgia’s Fast 40 three times.
Following the successful sale of his companies in late 2024, David continues to serve as Chairman of Exploring, Inc. In addition, he has transitioned into a strategic consultancy role, leveraging his expertise to guide organizations through brand repositioning and market expansion.

He has also expanded his role as a mentor and philanthropist with his support of various individuals and organizations.
A dedicated advocate for higher education and community growth, David’s impact is deeply felt at Kennesaw State University. He serves as a Trustee of the KSU Foundation and is an active member of the KSU Athletic Board, where he has played a pivotal role in the strategic development of the university’s Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) initiatives. His commitment to fostering the best outcomes for students and student athletes is further evidenced by his seat on the KSU Research Advisory Board.
David is a member of the Atlanta Rotary Club and serves on the board of Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, HBN, and EDPA Foundation. His extensive industry service includes past leadership roles as Chairman of the Experiential Designers and Producers Association (EDPA) Foundation and President of CEO Netweavers. David lives in Cobb County with his wife Donna and has three children and nine grandchildren. He continues to be a driving force in the region’s business and philanthropic landscape.
