The Bachelor of Science with a major in Artificial Intelligence program (BSAI) equips students with a strong foundation in computing, as well as the knowledge, skills, and methodologies necessary for ethical and professional practices in artificial intelligence (AI). This innovative STEM degree program integrates knowledge from the fields of computer science, cybersecurity, data science, information technology, and software engineering. It provides students with in-depth studies of the core principles and technologies in artificial intelligence, such as machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, cognitive computing, natural language processing, computer vision, human-machine teaming, and AI’s ethical implications. This program also utilizes opportunities via course projects, term projects, and capstone projects to explore their application in different sectors, including defense and homeland security, e-commerce, engineering, finance, healthcare, and others. Students are encouraged to earn a minor in another discipline that provides a breadth of knowledge relevant to designing, developing, and deploying AI solutions.
Students will develop skills in AI programming and project development, AI research, and industrial internships. The BSAI program emphasizes experiential learning and problem-solving. This program includes a required capstone course in which students apply their knowledge by conceptualizing, designing, and implementing AI-driven solutions to address real-world challenges. Graduates from the program will be well-prepared to begin their career in industry, government, community, and non-profit organizations, or pursue graduate study in the rapidly expanding and evolving field of artificial intelligence.
