Professional sales students rise to the occasion in TK Elevator Pitch Competition

During the fourth annual TK Elevator Pitch Competition, Kennesaw State University saw its students rise to the occasion— literally. The annual Elevator Pitch Challenge, a highlight of KSU’s Professional Sales program, took place at TK Elevator’s offices in Atlanta. As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of elevators and escalators, TK Elevator provided the perfect backdrop for the challenge, where each student had 60 seconds to pitch their personal brand to company executives while ascending 420 feet in Atlanta's fastest elevator.

KSU nursing student shares perspective at Governor's Workforce Summit

Kennesaw State University student Aliyah Johnson recently joined educators, industry leaders, and policymakers from across Georgia at the 2025 Governor’s Workforce Summit, held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Representing the University System of Georgia, Johnson served as a panelist during the closing session, “Pathways to Possibilities – Where Talent Meets Opportunity,” where she shared her perspective on how students can best prepare for, and be supported along, their educational and career journeys.

Kennesaw State associate professor leads effort to strengthen juvenile justice programs through data analysis

Each year, hundreds of Georgia’s youths leave juvenile justice facilities hoping for a brighter future. Helping them stay on that path is the focus of the Annual Recidivism Report, led by Kennesaw State University associate professor Austin Brown. Supported by a $62,000 Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) grant, the report evaluates the reliability of existing data systems and measures the effectiveness of intervention programs aimed at reducing youth reoffending across the state.

Student projects mark 25th anniversary of Kennesaw State, Montepulciano partnership

Some 5,000 miles away, in the heart of Montepulciano, Italy, a city famous for medieval architecture and world-class wines, Kennesaw State University students are uncorking creativity and making an impact. In a truly global collaboration, graphic design students in the School of Communication and Media at the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences are getting a taste of real-world design experience creating a commemorative wine label and promotional materials for a bottle of red wine that will be released to celebrate the 25-year partnership with KSU’s campus in Montepulciano.

Kennesaw State history professor helps shape Georgia's environmental future

A Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences history professor is part of a statewide class to lead Georgia’s environmental conservation efforts. History professor Albert “Bert” Way, Ph.D., is an environmental and agricultural historian who teaches the history of land use and conservation to Kennesaw State University students. This year, he is one of 30 people across the state selected to join the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership’s Class of 2025 (IGEL).

Well-traveled lobster the latest point of intrigue in Kennesaw State dean's research

Serendipity led Heather Koopman to study crustaceans. Patience led her to an impressive discovery. In August, the dean of Kennesaw State University’s College of Science and Mathematics’ research into the migratory and reproductive habits of lobsters in the Bay of Fundy yielded something remarkable – a lobster she tagged near the island of Grand Manan, New Brunswick, found her way to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, around 220 miles away.

Kennesaw State architecture students earn recognition in international design competition

With a vision that turned crumbling walls into works of art, a team of Kennesaw State University architecture students reimagined an old Italian villa and earned international recognition along the way. Gabriela Almeida, Wade Brock, Quincy Smith, and Justin Barkie – all students in Kennesaw State's College of Architecture and Construction Management – spent their summer transforming the ruins of history into a story of renewal. Their project, “When Walls Roam,” won the Community’s Choice Award in Terraviva Competitions’ Venetian Villa challenge, gaining praise from viewers worldwide.
