The Center for Young Adult Addiction and Recovery (CYAAR) is nationally renowned for supporting students' overall well-being, particularly for those in or seeking recovery through innovative programming like Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention & Education, Recovery Support Services, the Collegiate Recovery Program, and Recovery Science Research.
With over 21.2 million Americans impacted by a substance use disorder, just 11% of those patients received the treatment they needed. And one in five people wrestling with addiction say they do not know where to turn for help.
CYAAR supports and encourages recovery and wellness in an abstinence-hostile social
environment. By providing recovery-based programs, a peer recovery community, and
education to help those impacted by addiction, the Center changes lives, connects
students to the community, and lays a solid foundation for transformational recovery.
