KSU student Nicole Rivera supported HR and DEI initiatives through data analytics during her internship at Mercedes-Benz USA, gaining hands-on experience in workforce strategy.
For Nicole Rivera, data isn’t just numbers—it’s a tool for transformation. And this summer, she used that tool to support HR and DEI initiatives at one of the world’s most iconic automotive brands.
Nicole interned at Mercedes-Benz USA as a People Analytics Junior Associate Consultant, where she helped track key HR metrics such as diversity, engagement, and workforce trends. Her role involved building dashboards, improving data processes, and contributing to strategic reporting that supports company-wide decision-making.
“This internship gave me real-world experience in people analytics and HR strategy,” Nicole said. “It’s a major step toward my career goals.”
She found the opportunity through an online job board and credits KSU’s academic foundation and student involvement for helping her get there. “KSU helped me grow professionally and personally,” she said. “Being part of student organizations like ALPFA built my leadership skills and confidence.”
Nicole is moving on to her next role—as the President of ALPFA KSU, a role she sees as both a challenge and a chance to give back. “It’s one of the most impactful moments of my time at KSU,” she said. “I’m excited to help others grow while continuing to develop as a leader.”
She also developed essential life skills at KSU, including communication, adaptability, and time management. “Balancing coursework, work, and leadership roles taught me how to prioritize and stay organized,” she said.
With her internship now complete, Nicole is ready to take the next step—armed with experience, confidence, and a clear vision for her future in data-driven HR strategy.
