These sessions are designed to bridge theory and practice, offering a presentation by a subject matter expert, followed by a panel of business owners with diverse experiences in the chosen theme. This unique blend of expert insights and real-world perspectives aims to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of family business. Our goal is to both foster learning and create a collaborative space for networking and sharing experiences.

Family Business Professionalization

Professionalization refers to the process of adopting more formal and structured business practices as firms grow and expand. In family-owned businesses, professionalization often involves supplanting family-centered management practices with more formal and industry standard practices, which can have unintentional consequences to the operating culture of family businesses. This discussion will consider both the positive and negative effects of the professionalization imperative facing growing small and family businesses.
