What is FLIGHT?

Purpose: FLIGHT is a class-year connections program offering distinctive experiences to support the social, personal, and academic development of Kennesaw State University students. Through a comprehensive four-year framework, FLIGHT ensures that every student feels recognized and supported by the broader campus community.

Vision: Guided by four key pillars – community/belonging, campus connections, engagement, and support – the framework is designed to provide students with essential information and support crucial for success in college and beyond.

FLIGHT Runout

The FLIGHT Runout happens only once for the first 2,000 students who claim their specialty tickets to the first home opener football game of the season. The new incoming FLIGHT class runs across the field wearing their signature FLIGHT jersey before the KSU Owls in this annual tradition that is sure to be a core memory of your time at Kennesaw State University. 

Meet Your Class Dean

The Class Dean will serve as contact person who can help you get connected to resources you need. They will also communicate regularly with the class via Instagram, blog, and emails to make sure you are aware of important resources and other information you need.

  • Take 15 credit hours each semester (Fall + Spring = 30 credits/year).
  • Use summer classes, “One step closer” if you need to catch up or get ahead.

FLIGHT Ambassadors are dedicated student leaders who serve as peer-to-peer support for their classmates, helping to foster meaningful connections, increase campus engagement, and guide fellow Owls toward valuable resources. Representing their class and the broader Kennesaw State University (KSU) community, these ambassadors play a vital role in shaping a welcoming and inclusive campus environment.

In addition to making a positive impact, FLIGHT Ambassadors gain hands-on leadership experience, develop essential communication and teamwork skills, and earn a leadership microcredential that enhances their academic and professional journey.
