Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Post-Graduate Certificate

Kennesaw State University’s PMHNP Post-Master’s Certificate equips advanced practice registered nurses with the skills to deliver evidence-based mental health care across the lifespan.

In addition to hands-on clinical experiences, students engage in simulation-based training supported by personalized mentoring from Board-certified PMHNPs and a certified Gestalt practitioner. This experiential approach builds clinical skill, therapeutic presence, and professional confidence.

Designed for nurses with an MSN, DNP, or PhD in nursing, the program offers a flexible, four-semester format tailored to working professionals. Financial aid is available for eligible students.

Applicants must:

  • Hold an MSN, DNP, or PhD in nursing
  • Have completed the following graduate-level courses prior to starting the program:
    • Advanced Pharmacology
    • Advanced Pathophysiology
    • Advanced Physical Assessment
