Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering

Kennesaw State University’s Department of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering educates tomorrow's engineers for excellence in this age of advanced manufacturing, robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence. Team RME SCOUT won 1st Place in the Spring 2024 College Design Expo

In a stunning display of teamwork, Team RME SCOUT has received the winning prize in the Spring 2024 College Design Expo. The project demonstrates multi-robot collaboration with dynamic charging. It uses UAVs and Robot Dogs to work in areas like search and rescue missions, area monitoring and environmental studies.
This remarkable achievement highlights the team commitment to excellence and innovation. Congratulations to Team RME SCOUT for this outstanding accomplishment!

    RME EMBRACE Team Secures 2nd Place in Spring 2024 College Design Expo

    The RME EMBRACE Team has received the second place in the Spring 2024 college
    senior capstone competition. Their work focused on the development of assistive
    technology for rehabilitation for children elderly alike. This unique design allows foot
    mobility assistance implements soft robotics and soft materials.

    RME Team VIEW Secures First Place in In-Progress Category at Spring 2024 College Design Expo

    RME Team VIEW has made significant strides, clinching the top spot in the In-
    Progress Category during the first session of the Spring 2024 college senior
    capstone competition. The project enhances the mobility and independence of
    visually impaired individuals. It integrates multiple sensors, including video
    cameras, Lidar sensors, and onboard haptics and speakers, to comprehensively
    scan, process, and navigate the user through their environment. It also incorporates
    advanced text recognition capabilities, leveraging its cameras to read aloud text
    within the user's surroundings.

    College Design Expo

    RME Team Exo-Suit won the first prize in the Fall 2023 college senior capstone competition. The
    work includes human robot interaction. The project implemented an exo-suit that gives
    controllability to robot to move in any environment. The team also published this research in IEEE
    Southeast con 2024. Congratulations to RME Team Exo-Suit for their remarkable progress and
    achievement!
