Welcome to the Aerospace Engineering and Research Organization (AERO) Lab

The AERO Lab, directed by Dr. Adeel Khalid, is a multidisciplinary research group focused on advancing the frontiers of autonomous flight systems, robotics, fluid dynamics, and aerospace design.

We bring together students and researchers from Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Engineering to collaborate on complex challenges in aerial robotics and intelligent systems. Our work combines theory, experimentation, and real-world testing to design autonomous platforms capable of operating safely and efficiently in dynamic environments.

Our Core Areas of Research

  • Autonomous & Aerial Robotics – Designing intelligent UAV systems with integrated perception, planning, and control.
  • Aerospace Design & Optimization – Applying computational modeling, AI, and simulation for efficient and innovative aircraft design.
  • Fluid Dynamics & Propulsion – Exploring aerodynamic behavior, turbulence modeling, and propulsion systems for advanced aerial performance.
  • Interdisciplinary Engineering – Bridging mechanical systems, embedded electronics, and AI algorithms to develop next-generation robotic technologies.

Our Mission

To innovate, educate, and inspire by developing aerospace and robotic technologies while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and hands-on learning.
