About Strategic Planning, Assessment, and Analysis

Located within the Division of Student Affairs, Strategic Planning, Assessment, and Analysis (SPAA) seeks to create an environment that supports a culture of assessment throughout the Division by guiding efforts to assess learning beyond the classroom.

Through training and consultation, SPAA provides leadership and support for achieving the division and university missions by using intentionally designed assessments

The SPAA provides the following services and resources to the Division of Student Affairs:

  • Assessment and strategic planning consultation
  • Student engagement data management
  • Assessment training & skills development
  • Support of Divisional strategic initiatives
  • Liaison between DSA and Office of Institutional Research

Assessment Tool Access Request

The Division of Student Affairs utilizes a variety of tools to support the Division's assessment efforts and commitment to continuous improvement.

    Engage - Owl Life Promoting events and/or announcements, recording event attendance, and other admin features.
    • This form is only necessary when requesting system admin access to Owl Life.
    • This form is not required to request general Owl Life access. All active KSU NetIDs are automatically issued an Owl Life account. 
    • This form is not required to request access to an organization within Owl Life. 
    Planning Annual Reports and Assessment Plans for the Division of Student Affairs.
    • Access is based on departmental affiliation.
    • Request may be for only Annual Reports, Assessment Plans, or both.
    • In order to assign 'tasks' from Planning to users within your department, they will need to be given access to Planning.
    • Users may have Admin, Contributor, or Reviewer access. 
    Insight Data Visualizations, Dashboards, and Analytics software that connects student engagement data with student demographic data to improve our holistic understanding of the student experience. 
    • Access is based on departmental affiliation.
    • Custom views can be created via a Student Engagement Data Request to meet specific data needs.
    Qualtrics Survey tool used to collect student feedback.
    • Users must request a Qualtrics account by visiting survey.kennesaw.edu
    • After account creation, use the form below to request account be associated with the DSA Approval Flow for Qualtrics.
    • All DSA Qualtrics surveys must be reviewed by SPAA before they can be published. 

Strategic Planning, Assessment, and Analysis is committed to reviewing and processing your request in a timely manner. SPAA works to process all complete and reviewed DSA Assessment Tool Access Requests within 5-7 business days.

  • Incomplete submissions will be returned to the requester and will result in a delayed processing time.
  • SPAA's processing timeline begins once your request has been approved by your next-level supervisor.

In order to expedite the processing of your request, you will want to review the following and gather the necessary materials and documentation required to complete your submission:

  • If your request for access request includes access to student-level data, you will need to locate and upload a copy of your Buckley Form (accessible via UITS Security Forms).
  • Copy of KSU Information Security Training Certificate of Completion (accessible via your Learning Transcript within OwlTrain) or USG Cybersecurity Training certificate.
  • Email address of your Department Head and Senior Leadership Team member (your Assessment Tool Access Request will be routed to your next level supervisor for review and approval prior to SPAA reviewing your request).
