Spectacular Holiday Concert Planned at Kennesaw State University

Kennesaw State University’s Bailey School of Music will present the 2024 Holiday Concert on Sat., Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. The annual concert features almost 280 KSU students performing as part of the Choirs, Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and Jazz I.

"Properties of Being" Dance Concert Opens Nov. 14 at Kennesaw State University

Kennesaw State University (KSU) Department of Dance is pleased to present “Properties of Being” Nov. 14-16 at the KSU Dance Theater on the Marietta campus. The program will include both classical and contemporary dance, highlighting the universal need to move, connect—and simply be—with others. Featuring five original works by KSU Dance faculty, some with choreographic input from students, the concert will be performed by the KSU Dance Company.

Come Play with "Opossum and the Season Stone" from Kennesaw State University

Human beings, no matter their age, are built to play, but they must find ways to activate the behavior, according to Dr. Stuart Brown, founder and past president of the National Institute for Play. He insists that play is “not frivolous and not just for kids, but something that is an inherent part of human nature.” Kids of all ages will get a chance to play when Kennesaw State University’s Department of Theatre and Performance Studies’ (TPS) presents its original production of “Opossum and the Season Stone” Nov. 15-16 and Nov. 22-23, created specifically for Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA).

Physically Integrated Dance Company to Perform at Kennesaw State University

Who gets to dance? How do you define the word dancer? Are only able bodies allowed to dance? Kennesaw State University (KSU) Department of Dance will answer those questions as they host Full Radius Dance on September 25 at 12:30 p.m. at the Student Center on the Kennesaw campus. Based in Atlanta, Full Radius Dance is a professional modern dance company in the field of physically integrated dance and features dancers with and without physical disabilities.

Metro Atlanta Art Teachers' Work Featured in Biennial Juried Exhibition at Zuckerman

The Zuckerman Museum of Art (ZMA), a unit of the School of Art and Design, is pleased to present a new exhibition featuring the work of metro Atlanta area art teachers. “Playful Encounters,” the Third Annual Biennial Exhibition for Art Educators, runs now through October 4, 2024. In the popular exhibition, pre-K to 12th grade teachers who primarily teach art are invited to highlight their own work. Juried by Athens-based artist Didi Dunphy, the exhibition is on display in the Fine Arts Gallery in the Wilson Building on KSU’s Kennesaw campus.
