Coles Faculty Establishes Scholarship to Help International Students

Harry Vardis knows firsthand the value of receiving a college scholarship as an international student, so he is providing that same opportunity to students at Kennesaw State University. Vardis has committed a seven-figure donation to establish a legacy scholarship fund – the Harry and Athena Vardis Scholarships – which will be given to deserving KSU students, with a focus on students from foreign countries.

LeanSwift, Coles College Partner to Bring Enterprise-Level Software into the Classroom

Kennesaw State’s Michael J. Coles College of Business Department of Information Systems and Security is working with LeanSwift to develop a curriculum around implementing INFOR, one of most widely used ERP systems, with more than 90,000 corporate customers worldwide. The learning materials, as well as access to full version of the INFOR software, will be available to students in the information systems program’s Business Process Management course beginning Spring 2021.

To that end, they recently partnered with Kennesaw State University Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business program to develop a statewide database of musicians and related professionals that will help productions locate Georgia talent.

New Fund Supports Student Entrepreneur Innovation

A $120,000 gift from Sid and Sophie Mookerji will establish the Mookerji Innovation Fund in Kennesaw State’s Robin and Doug Shore Entrepreneurship Center. Focused on executing technology innovation and ideas, the new fund will provide an investment and early stage guidance for small business and startups founded and run by KSU students and alumni.

According to the report Fastest-Growing Jobs for Young Professionals in America, the fastest-growing job for professionals aged 22 to 34 is information security analyst. Meanwhile, the top ten also includes other business-related fields such as purchasing manager at No. 7, and marketing research analyst/marketing specialist at No. 8.
