House Bill 61, set to take effect Jan. 1, requires online retailers who make at least 200 sales a year or $250,000 in annual gross revenue to start paying the state’s 4 percent sales tax.
Roger Tutterow, an economics professor at Kennesaw State University, said the measure would have the biggest impact on consumers who do the bulk of their shopping online.
