The CIO Summit is an annual conference for chief information officers of hotel brands, management companies, cruise lines, gaming businesses, and independent hotels. Organizers select one undergraduate hospitality student from across the country each year to receive the honorary seat named for the late James Cahill, who served as CIO for ITT Sheraton, InterContinental Hotels, and the Denihan Hospitality Group.

“Alana’s background, dedication and passion for the hospitality industry embodies the spirit of John Cahill,” said Leonard Jackson, program director for Kennesaw State University’s Hospitality Management degree program. “Like Mr. Cahill, Alana has a strong interest in both technology and the hospitality industry.”

In addition to being a full-time student, Agcaoili currently works as a procurement specialist at IHG’s Atlanta corporate office. She also previously worked as front office manager for Hotel Indigo. As recipient of the John Cahill seat, Agcaoili will have access to the invitation-only closed-door CIO Summit, where she will learn about the latest trends at the intersection of technology and hospitality.
