Coles College of Business program earns top spot among Georgia public universities
The part-time Master of Business Administration program in Kennesaw State University’s Michael J. Coles College of Business was ranked 28th nationally and the No. 1 public part-time MBA program in Georgia in the U.S. News & World Report 2018 Best Graduate Schools report released today.
Kennesaw State rose 31 places from last year’s rankings to earn the top spot among public universities in the state. Coles College leaders attributed the national ranking to the College’s focused effort to offer a program with the relevance, flexibility and convenience that part-time MBA students need.
“We are exceptionally pleased to be recognized among the nation’s leading business schools,” said Kathy Schwaig, dean of the Coles College of Business. “Having our MBA program receive this level of recognition is a testament to the excellence of our faculty, staff, students, graduates and program- and university-level leaders.”
According to U.S. News, part-time business programs play a vital role for working professionals who are unable to attend business school full time. Coles College currently enrolls 168 part-time MBA students. The flexible, self-paced program offers courses in the evenings and at two locations – the KSU Center in Kennesaw and Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta – with mini-mesters in May, August and December.
“The Coles College offers rigorous and quality MBA programs that appeal to talented and motivated business-professional students seeking a balance between family needs, workplace commitments and educational demands on their time,” said Amy Henley, executive director of MBA programs in the Coles College. “The continuous improvement in our MBA program rankings reflects our commitment to providing quality business education that is highly relevant and practical in today’s competitive global economy.”
The annual U.S. News ranking is based on five factors: average peer assessment score, average graduate exam (GMAT and GRE) scores of entering part-time MBA students, average undergraduate grade point average, number of years of work experience, and the percentage of total MBA enrollment that is part time. This year, 301 graduate programs were ranked.
