Dr. Barbara Harris Combs was honored at the Association of Black Sociologists (ABS) 53rd annual conference. Her book, Bodies Out of Place: Theorizing Anti-blackness in U. S. Society (University of Georgia Press, 2022), was selected by the national association for the Ida B Wells-Barnett Book Award.
