KSU Professor Emeritus Mel Fein had been recognized as Georgia's Sociologist of the Year at the annual conference of the Georgia Sociological Association, Jekyll Island, Nov. 7-9, 2019. An entire session was dedicated to Mel Fein's work, legacy and impact on the teaching and practice of Sociology in the state of Georgia. Colleagues from around the state, current and former students have shared stories about his bigger than life personality and impact on their careers and professional development.
