Here's what some of the students said about going to the jail:
"I have been anticipating this jail tour the entire semester and I think it is and was one of the coolest experiences I’ve had in college. All in all it was a really great experience and it really brought the words in our textbook to life as well as placing some of the things we talked about in class an assigning them to real world things in my head." -K.R.
"In total, the jail tour was a very cool experience, to see some of the inner workings of it and getting to see things that the average person doesn’t get to. This was sincerely a thrilling class to be in and I don’t think there will be a class like this one that I take again in the next two years." -E.S.
"I really enjoyed touring the jails. I toured both the Cobb County and the Gwinnett County jails and there was a very notable difference between the two. I was initially nervous about the tour because I’ve never been to or near a jail at all and didn’t know how it was going to go. It was very comforting how nice the deputies were at Cobb County. I learned a lot about what the Gwinnett jail does for mental health such as the dog training which was very insightful. I really enjoyed the tour and hope upcoming students get to experience it as well." -D.L.
"Many students do not have the opportunity to say that they were able to take a tour of a jail, 2 at that. As a student wanting to become a lawyer or judge, I appreciate having the opportunity to experience a new and completely different environment." -B.A.
