Welcome to the Wellstar School of Nursing

It is with pleasure that I welcome your review of the Wellstar School of Nursing (WSON) at Kennesaw State University. WSON prioritizes student success, respect, community and  practice engagement, innovation, and research. Our dedicated faculty and staff team proudly serve students, their colleagues, community members, and you. On behalf of that team, it is my privilege to communicate what an exciting time it is to be a professional nurse and nursing student. The world recognizes nurses' contribution to health and healing and nurses are in need. In fact, nurses are acknowledged as the most trusted profession. That trust bestowed on nurses collectively and individually arises from a rich history of caring science, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practice accomplished in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. WSON offers undergraduate programming for pre-licensure students in a traditional and accelerated option, as well as graduate programming for advanced practice in Family Nurse Practitioner coursework, and Leadership in Administration or Education coursework. WSON invites your support as we aim to transform lives of diverse communities through education, practice, research, service, and innovation.

Our students come from all corners of Georgia as well as other states and countries and our graduates are employed primarily by world-class medical facilities of Atlanta, medically underserved regions of the southeast, and the United States military.

Our exceptional faculty provides leadership in the profession through their innovative teaching and scholarship. Our caring staff members are committed to providing guidance and advisement through the academic process. Our students enter with the faculty’s high expectations and work hard to achieve the outcomes we set for them.

Join us as we endeavor to provide state-of-the-art nursing education to meet local, national, and global healthcare needs.
