    Students from Kennesaw State University’s School of Art and Design will host the inaugural Holiday Artist Market on Friday, Dec. 1, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Visual Arts Building on the Kennesaw campus. Free and open to the public, the Holiday Artist Market will feature a wide array of handcrafted items available for purchase, all made by students.

    Kennesaw State Bailey School of Music to present Holiday Concert

    Kennesaw State University’s Bailey School of Music (BSOM) will present the 2023 Holiday Concert on Sat., Dec. 2 at 2 and 8 p.m. An annual tradition, the concert features many students, including the Wind Ensemble, Combined Choirs, and the KSU Symphony Orchestra. This year’s lineup includes holiday classics, big works from the classical canon, and even music from some very famous holiday movies.

    Kennesaw State University College of the Arts welcomed over 200 patrons to the 2023 ArtsKSU Gala, held Oct. 14 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. The event raised over $1,910,000 to support student scholarships and programming, including $800,000 in new endowed scholarship funds and a bequest of $1,000,070 to name the Emily Grigsby Gallery at Chastain Pointe.

    Kennesaw State University undergraduate students from the College of the Arts (COTA) presented their research today in the ArtsKSU Research Forum, coordinated by the College of the Arts Council for Undergraduate Research (CUR). The research represented all four units of COTA, including the School of Art and Design, the Bailey School of Music, the Department of Theatre & Performance Studies, and the Department of Dance. In alignment with the mission of Kennesaw State’s Office of Undergraduate Research, the College of the Arts seeks to promote high-quality undergraduate student-faculty collaborative research and scholarship, and to make research an integral part of the undergraduate experience.

    Kennesaw State University’s Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) will present the Tony Award-winning musical “Once on This Island: The Musical” in the Stillwell Theater on Nov. 2-5 and Nov. 9-12. Tickets are $12-$20 and are available online or by calling Patron Services at 470-578-6650. Written by Lynn Ahrens, with music by Stephen Flaherty, the musical is the universal tale of Ti Moune, a fearless peasant girl in search of her place in the world, and ready to risk it all for love. Guided by the mighty island gods, Ti Moune sets out on a remarkable journey to reunite with the man who captured her heart. With the power to inspire and heal, the story is simply, beautifully told.
