According to Kennesaw State University’s Roadmap to R2 Success, the University is “dedicated to the advancement of our faculty, students and staff who are at the epicenter of our educational mission.” One of the main goals of KSU’s Roadmap is to provide “an impactful learning environment.” To do this, the faculty, both full-time and part-time, must be well-supported. This includes a strong onboarding process for new faculty and continuous support for all faculty.
In response to this University initiative, the College of Architecture and Construction Management (CACM) supported several Spring 2024 Student Success Fellowships, including this one to provide recommendations for onboarding and continuous support for CACM faculty based on analysis of current KSU programs and those at peer and aspirant institutions.
This report contains three main sections: an analysis of existing KSU onboarding and continuous support of faculty processes, an analysis of four peer and aspirant institutions and a proposal for CACM onboarding and continuous support processes. The analysis for the former two sections in this report has been done at the University, College and Department levels. The latter section, the proposal, includes scope that addresses the College and Department levels. To further support these efforts, a survey of the CACM faculty was conducted. The raw data from this survey is included in this report as an Appendix.
