Taylor Rambo is a lifelong musician and performer. While he has always known his career would be in the arts, the Kennesaw State University Master of Business Administration graduate has discovered he prefers to work behind the scenes. Rambo, who earned his MBA from the Michael J. Coles College of Business in Spring 2021, recently was named executive director of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra.

Kennesaw State's Healthcare Informatics Program Continues to Connect Students and Industry

Kennesaw State University’s innovative Master of Science in Healthcare Management program celebrates its fifth anniversary this year. With the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicting job growth in the healthcare information technology sector to outpace overall growth during the next 10 years, the program is committed to developing a diverse, knowledgeable talent pool to succeed in those jobs. Launched in Fall 2016 to enhance Georgia’s competitiveness in the healthcare IT sector, the MSHMI program welcomed its fifth cohort in Fall 2020. Made up of IT experts and novices as well as nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals, the 52 students represent the largest cohort yet.

Kennesaw State Graduate Sees Teaching as Tool to End Poverty

As a teenager, Almuth Merkel volunteered at a daycare center in Chile as part of an international exchange program, an experience that sparked a lifelong passion for fighting poverty and food insecurity. Having earned her Ph.D. in International Conflict Management from Kennesaw State University and teaching in the Michael J. Coles College of Business, Merkel is ready to take her fight global once again.

Honors College Recognizes Coles Student for Scholarship and Service

Management major Robert Connor is making the most of each day as a student and a leader, and accordingly has been recognized as this year’s top student in Kennesaw State University’s President’s Emerging Global Scholars (PEGS) program. Named for the founding dean of the Honors College, the Ralph Rascati Outstanding PEGS Student award is given annually to a second-year student who demonstrates strong scholastic performance and service to others.

Coles Double Major Earns National Recognition for Research

Jacob Rybak is having an unforgettable final year as a Kennesaw State University student, presenting to prestigious research conferences across the country and even being a featured speaker for one of them. Rybak has been working with professor Susan Hardy for several months on research aimed at reforming the prison system in the United States and reducing the number of former inmates who relapse into criminal activity and return to jail. Rybak has given presentations online for seven different research conferences, including at Harvard, Virginia Tech and most recently Stanford, for which he also was a plenary speaker.
