Varsity esports is here at Kennesaw State University! The Esports Program at KSU is looking for the best of the best to represent the university in the intercollegiate esports space. With the help of the Esports Performance Academy, varsity coaches, and the Esports Program staff, Kennesaw State is confident in the selection process for the esports athletes and analysts that will fill out the varsity lineups.
The varsity teams will be competing in developer-run leagues in the spring such as College League of Legends and Collegiate Rocket League. In addition to these leagues, the teams will also participate in fall tournaments, showcase games, and other events. Their games will be streamed at https://www.twitch.tv/kennesawesports. Be sure to follow the stream to know when our teams are playing!
There are three varsity titles the Esports Program will be sponsoring. They are League of Legends, Rocket League, and SMITE. For each of these titles, there will be spots to fill via tryouts.
- League of Legends (7) – Starting 5 plus one substitute and analyst
- Rocket League (5) – Starting 3 plus one substitute and analyst
- SMITE (7) – Starting 5 plus one substitute and analyst
The Esports Program is offering the following for the positions:
- Scholarships - $35,000
- $2000/school year for starting 5 and substitute\
- $1000/school year for analyst
- Jerseys
- Priority access to the newly built Esports Space
- Supporting staff – Coaches and managers
Tryouts for the spots on a varsity team for each title will be taking place October 16th – 18th. A link to the application can be found here. The Esports Program is looking forward to working with competitive, motivated esports athletes and analysts to make KSU a major player in the collegiate esports space.
