The Interfraternity Council (IFC) serves as the governing body of the ten men's social fraternities at Kennesaw State University. For more than 150 years, fraternities have excelled in academics, leadership, athletics, and service. Here at KSU, our IFC community has perpetuated that legacy through emphasizing scholastic achievement, leadership development, service to the community, and brotherhood. We are committed to supporting undergraduate men in their personal development, producing successful leaders, and sustaining meaningful relationships during undergraduate years and as alumni of the University.
The IFC provides enriching programming for all community members whether they are a new member or a graduating senior. Along with supporting members of IFC, we often collaborate with other governing councils and student organizations on campus.
We are excited you have taken the time to learn about our community and encourage you to explore our website.
Additionally, you can get updates through the KSU IFC Instagram page!

The same membership requirements and policies apply.
Recruitment Tips
- Do your research! This is a big decision and you need to be sure to make the best decision for you.
- Ask questions! Be sure you know about any financial obligations, time commitments, academic success, and the fraternity's involvement on campus. While the fraternities want to get to know you, you need to get to know the fraternity too.
- Use your best judgment. Do not miss out on an opportunity because of peer pressure or stereotypes. Make your own decisions!

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Is recruitment still happening during this semester?
Yes, recruitment is open for registration starting now. -
What will it look like?
Structured IFC Recruitment will take place the second week of the Fall semester beginning on Friday, August 26th with Chapter Values. On the following Saturday and Sunday, participants will be able to interact with the twelve (12) chapters at off-campus events. Monday and Tuesday, participants can continue to interact with the chapters at on-campus events. While it is not required to attend the events of every chapter, the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life and the Interfraternity Council highly encourage potential new members to interact with as many chapters as possible to truly get an idea of the men within the community to find the best chapter fit for them. -
How does COVID change this recruitment?
Chapters will be held responsible for following proper social distancing and safety procedures during this recruitment. -
How do I sign up?
Registration for recruitment is held through Campus Director which links to access can be found on the IFC Instagram page and the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life page of the Kennesaw State website. -
What is a Bid?
A Bid is an invitation extended by chapters to those whom they wish to have join their chapter. You may receive zero (0) Bids or the max of twelve (12), one from each chapter. -
What is COB?
Continuous Open Bidding (COB) means that there is not a set date by which a chapter must extend a Bid. A chapter may extend a Bid to you at any time so long as they can get you through their new member education process and initiate you by the deadline of the end of November. -
How and where do I accept a Bid?
Bids will be distributed and accepted through the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life located in the Kennesaw campus Student Center room 277. You may also find your bids through your Campus Director account (the website you registered through for recruitment). -
What if I don’t get a Bid from the chapter I wish to join?
If you do not receive a Bid from the chapter you were hoping to join, do not panic. There is always the next semester’s recruitment, and if you received any other Bids you may accept those. -
How do I choose which Bid to accept?
Choosing which Bid to accept can be difficult, but it is important to reflect on your interactions with each chapter during their events and base your decision off of those. Who did you get along with best? Who did you feel the most comfortable with? Who did you feel at home with? These are all important questions to ask yourself. -
What if I accept a Bid but want to accept a different Bid later?
If you accept a Bid then wish to accept a different one that you received later, you must visit the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life to accept the new one. -
What if I don’t get a Bid?
Don’t panic, there is always next semester’s recruitment and many more after. -
What do I do after accepting a Bid?
After following through with the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life to accept your Bid, it would be best to contact the chapter which you accepted the Bid from to hear about the next steps. -
Do I have to accept a Bid?
No, you should never feel pressured to accept a Bid, even if you got the Bid that you hoped for. You can choose to not accept any of the Bids, or if you accept and do not wish to continue, speak to the chapter or the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life. -
Where should I go to see updates on recruitment?
Recruitment updates are mainly posted on the IFC Instagram page and the individual Instagram pages of each chapter. Each chapter will be posting their events and updates on their social media pages. You can also find them through the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life website. -
What are the requirements to join recruitment?
In order to be eligible for recruitment, you must be currently enrolled at Kennesaw State. You must meet the minimum GPA requirement of a 2.5 GPA, this goes for high school, transfer, and KSU adjusted GPAs; whichever is applicable to you. You must also have registered for recruitment through Campus Director and paid the $30 recruitment fee. -
Are there events to meet chapters besides their own?
Yes, the KSU IFC plans to hold tabling events throughout the semester. -
Any advice about recruitment?
Within the restrictions of your academic schedule, try to attend as many events for as many chapters as possible. The more interaction you have with each chapter the better. When you are attending events, push yourself to get to know as many members as you can from each chapter. These relationships started through your recruitment journey may result in life long friends and help grow a stronger community. -
