This immersive event brought together student delegates from universities across the country to represent various African nations and engage in high-level simulations of African Union proceedings. Throughout the conference, participants engaged in diplomatic negotiations, drafted and debated resolutions, and refined essential skills in public speaking, leadership, and international policymaking.
Beyond the simulation, students had the distinct honor of visiting the African Union
Mission to the United States, where
they met with Mathilde Mukantabana, Ambassador of Rwanda. The visit reinforced the connection between their simulation work and real-world diplomacy.
Students Gvantsa Kiknavelidze, Vitaly Santana Herrera, Matthew Peck, Ugochukwu Ukeje, and Amyia Tubbs proudly represented KSU. A special congratulations goes to John Ross Carman, who was honored with the Outstanding Delegate Award for his exemplary performance. Thanks to Dr. Akinyemi for his leadership and coaching.
