Georgia Politics Speaker Series Hosted Rep. Lisa Campbell

KENNESAW, Ga. | Sep 23, 2025

On Monday, September 22nd, SGIA hosted a talk by State Representative Lisa Campbell (D-Kennesaw). This was the first event for SGIA’s new “Georgia Politics Speaker Series”, which aims to bring in a diverse range of leaders at the local, state, and federal levels to speak to students in the School.

Rep. Campbell spoke with students for about 30 minutes, discussing how policies are made at the state level and her experiences and priorities as a state legislator. Rep. Campbell then took student questions for about 30 minutes and stayed late to further talk with several particularly eager students.

Questions and discussions focused on the policymaking process, available internships, and major issues on the state level, including health care and abortion policy.

SGIA is planning for a second Georgia Politics Speaker Series event during the spring 2026 term.
