Black and White photo of Fredrika Bremer.
Bremer is principally known as an advocate for women's suffrage and property rights in Sweden. Okie's article, however, explains that she was also an important environmental figure. He argues that Bremer "deserves renewed attention from environmental historians because of her embodied approach to environmental aesthetics," a practice he deems "aesthetic habitation."
