Military-Connected and Veterans Benefits

School Certifying Officials at Kennesaw State University, located in the Office of the Registrar, assist eligible military-connected students and student veterans with their VA education benefits provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Army Color Guard Saluting

We assist by:

  • Processing Intake  paperwork to get students set up to use their VA educational benefits at KSU.
  • Providing Benefit Review information for the awarded benefit upon receipt of the Intake documents.
  • Processing Requests for Certification each semester and submitting eligible student enrollment to the VA (enrollment certifications).
  • Monitoring student enrollment and submitting any changes to the VA.
  • Answering questions about how enrollment, withdrawals, or other issues may impact benefits.

Our department is not a division of, or directly affiliated, with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and we do not determine eligibility for benefits. For any eligibility questions, please call the VA education line at 1-888-442-4551 or visit their website.

How to Use Your VA Education Benefits at KSU

  • If this is your first time using VA education benefits at KSU, you’ll need to complete our Intake process before requesting certification of your enrollment. Email your KSU VA Intake form and a copy of your VA issued Certificate of Eligibility (COE) to your School Certifying Official using your KSU student email. The Intake process must be completed to set up your VA file with the Office of the Registrar. Your VA file will remain active, and you will not need to submit these documents again unless you change benefit types or are coming back to KSU after a year or more away.

    KSU VA Intake Form
  • If you have already completed the Intake process AND are registered for classes for the upcoming semester, email your completed Request for Certification form to vabenefits@kennesaw.edu using your KSU student email. By submitting the Request for Certification (RFC) form, you are requesting that we certify your enrollment to the VA with your schedule as it stands at that time. Schedule changes made after submission of the RFC will be reviewed for certification after the drop/add period ends for that term.

Ch. 33 Post 9/11 & Ch. 31 VR&E students: Request for Certification forms should be submitted at least one week prior to the beginning of the semester for the benefit to be applied to your student account in advance of the payment deadline.
