OwlSwap is dedicated to responsibly discarding outdated materials such as banners, signs, and apparel through our University Textile Recycling Program — a triple-bottom-line initiative at KSU! Established in 2019, OwlSwap has successfully facilitated recycling by sending excess branded materials from KSU to re:loom for upcycling. Triple-bottom-line programs support
people, benefit our planet, and are profitable. This program has resulted in the continued diversion of thousands of pounds of university textiles from the landfill; and the partnership between KSU and re:loom creates a closed-loop system. You can purchase upcycled KSU merchandise made by re:loom in the campus bookstore or on their website. This program affirms KSU's commitment to sustainability while working to lift individuals and communities out of poverty.

The connection between KSU and re:loom lowers the university's impact on the environment, reduces waste disposal costs, and supports the creation of a closed-loop system. We expect to see upcycled KSU goods made by re:loom available for purchase on campus soon. This program affirms KSU's commitment to sustainability while positively impacting individuals and communities.
