Other Student Types Requirements

You are considered an Adult Learner/Non-traditional if you meet the following criteria:

• Previously graduated from high school or whose high school class graduated five or more years ago.
• Earned a high school diploma or satisfactorily completed the GED.
• If previously attended college, completed fewer than 30 transferable semester hours of college credit.

Allow ample time for receipt and processing of all documents. Processing time varies based on the number of applicants and time of year.

Admissions Requirements for Adult Learner/Non-Traditional Applicants

Applicants eligible for review in this category are exempt from the SAT/ACT and High School College Preparatory Coursework requirement. However, non-traditional students in this category will be required to take the ACCUPLACER exam. Students can register for Accupalcer through our Testing Center. Minimum requirements are in place to determine eligibility for admission.

•  ACCUPLACER Math Next-Generation Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, Statistics: 258
•  ACCUPLACER Next-Generation Reading: 237
•  ACCUPLACER WritePlacer: 4

As an alternative, non-traditional students who have taken and scored the minimum below within the last seven years will be exempt of the ACCUPLACER exam:

• SAT 500 in both Critical Reading and Math
• ACT scores of at least 21 on both English and Math

Application Process for Adult Learner/Non-Traditional Students

1. Submit your application and $40 application fee online by the appropriate posted deadline for your desired semester of entry. Please ensure that on page three, under Enrollment Information, you select the Adult/Non-Traditional application type
2. Submit an official copy of GED scores or high school transcript directly from your school electronically or by mail
3. Submit official transcripts from all colleges, universities or schools attended. Students must make arrangements with each college previously attended to account for any class/credit hour attempted

Failure to submit a complete official transcript from all colleges previously attended may result in a registration hold placed on your record, which will prevent you from registering for classes in future semesters.

If you are a legal resident of Georgia aged 62 years and older, you may qualify for the  Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver. KSU 62 is a waiver that covers tuition and certain fees for students aged 62 or older. To receive the waiver, the following conditions must be met:

1. The applicant must first apply for and be accepted to the University.
2. The applicant must be 62 years old as of the first week of the semester.
3. The applicant must be a resident of the State of Georgia.

Application Process:

1. Submit your application and $40 application fee online by the admission deadline published for your desired semester of entry.
   Note: If you are applying as an Audit student, you must apply as a degree-seeking student (i.e. Adult Learner, Transfer). Please email ksuadmit@kennesaw.edu. if you wish to switch your student type to Audit. Official high school and college transcripts are also required for auditing students.

2.  Official transcripts from high school and all prior colleges attended should be sent directly from the institution electronically through:
Clearinghouse, Common App, GA Futures, Parchment, SCOIR, or Scribbles. Transcripts can be sent hard copy through the mail directly from the institution to:

Once registered for classes, students will submit proof of age to the Office of the Bursar.  Tuition and fees will be adjusted, and the waiver will be reflected in the students account once processed by the Office of the Bursar.
