GPA admission requirement change for freshman admissions

GPA Requirements

  • Effective through Summer 2027: Minimum 2.5 with qualifying test scores
  • Effective Fall 2027 and beyond: Minimum 3.0 with qualifying test scores

What does my student need to do to apply to KSU?

  • Kennesaw State requires SAT or ACT scores for first-year (freshman) admissions. Testing early gives your student the flexibility to prepare, retake the exam if needed, and stay ahead of important college admission deadlines.

  • Kennesaw State has Admissions Recruiters representing every county in Georgia and state in the U.S., as well as transfer and international recruiters. Admissions recruiters are here to help your student through the application and admissions process.

  • Thinking about becoming an Owl? Our prospective student events are designed to help you experience KSU firsthand. From campus tours to open houses, you’ll get the information and connections you need to make an informed decision about your college journey.

  • Be sure to check the admissions deadlines and requirements for your student’s specific population. Freshman applicants applying for fall are encouraged to apply by the priority deadline to be first in line for housing applications.

  • Once your student has applied, they can check their application status via the Pathway to Enrollment portal. The portal will indicate if they are missing any items. If their application is complete, the portal will show a decision once their application is processed.

  • Once your student is accepted, there are some important items they need to do. Be sure to follow the “Next Steps” for your student’s specific population.

There are next steps for you, too! Now that you are officially a member of Owl Nation, join the Owl Family Hub for up-to-date information and fellowship with fellow parents and supporters.
