Kennesaw State Department of Theatre and Performance Studies to present "The Spitfire Grill"

Kennesaw State University’s Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) will present “The Spitfire Grill” November 16-20 at the Onyx Theater on the Kennesaw campus. “The Spitfire Grill” offers a heartwarming story about finding redemption and building meaningful relationships in one’s new home. A parolee arrives in a small Wisconsin town and struggles to find her place in a community of troubled souls who gather at a well-worn diner. Her presence sparks re-connections and reconciliations that bring the community together.

Kennesaw State University Bailey School of Music to present "Kristallnacht Commemoration"

Kennesaw State University’s Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music (BSOM), in partnership with KSU Museum of History and Holocaust Education (MHHE) and The Breman Museum, will present “Kristallnacht Commemoration” on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Morgan Concert Hall in the Dr. Bobbie Bailey & Family Performance Center. The event includes music, commentary, and a traveling exhibition.

This evening of contemporary and classical choreography features original works by two faculty members and two guest artists, culminating in one of the strongest performances ever produced by the Department of Dance.

Kennesaw State University Department of Theatre and Performance Studies to Present "Everybody"

The Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) asks what might happen when Death shows up unexpectedly and tells Everybody his time is up. “Everybody,” running October 26-31, is Branden-Jacob Jenkins’ audacious riff on the 15th century morality play, “Everyman.” Everyman has been called to give an account of his life, but he can’t give an account, and he can’t take his worldly goods with him. “Everybody” is a mirror image of “Everyman,” but set in today’s modern world.

World-renowned Cellist Jesús Castro-Balbi to Play with KSU Symphony Orchestra

Internationally renowned cellist Jesús Castro-Balbi will join the KSU Symphony Orchestra on stage on October 21 at 7:30 p.m. Named the Director of the Bailey School of Music on July 1, 2021, Castro-Balbi was first invited to perform at KSU in 2012 as a guest artist. This year, he worked closely with Dr. Nathaniel F. Parker, conductor of the KSU Symphony Orchestra, and Harrison Long, Interim Dean of the College of the Arts, to take the stage once more.

Kennesaw State University's College of the Arts to Host ArtsKSU Gala

Kennesaw State University’s College of the Arts will host the 2021 ArtsKSU Gala on October 16, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta. Proceeds from the fundraising event will benefit annual student scholarships in the College of the Arts at KSU. Single tickets are $250 each, and a few tables of ten are still available.

Kennesaw State Department of Theatre and Performance Studies to present "Wondrous Strange"

Kennesaw State University’s Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) will present "Wondrous Strange" October 5-10 at the Onyx Theater on the Kennesaw campus. Inspired by Kentucky ghost tales, this collage of short plays explores our endless fascination with hauntings, spirits, and paranormal happenings. Louisville Insight wrote that "Wondrous Strange" is “a sweet, creepy, and hilarious horror-comedy-romance.”

Kennesaw State to present "Words, Music, Memory: (Re)presenting Voices of the Holocaust"

Kennesaw State University’s Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music (BSOM) and the Museum of History and Holocaust Education (MHHE), in partnership with James Madison University (JMU), will present a free performance and lecture to mark the opening of the MHHE’s new traveling exhibition, “Words, Music, Memory: (Re)presenting Voices of the Holocaust.” The event is scheduled for Sunday, September 19, at 3:00 p.m. in the Music Building, WB109, on the Kennesaw campus. Tickets are not required for in-person attendance, but a reservation is required to watch on Zoom.

Marching Owls Alumni Society Created at Kennesaw State University

To say that the students of “The Marching Owls” are a close-knit bunch may be an understatement. So, it comes as no surprise that alumni of KSU’s Marching Band (KSUMB) have banded together to create the Marching Owls Alumni Society, or MOAS.
