The Community Engagement and Design Build Lab

KSU College of Architecture and Construction Management takes pride in its rich history of community partnerships that encompass adiverse array of projects and initiatives, including design, symposia, evidence-based research, and internships. We have recently decided to sustain theseprojects and initiatives under a unified framework of support, enhancement, and guidance by establishing the Community Design Lab.

ThisLab will assist local communities, governments, and organizations while providing real-world experiences and engagement opportunities for our students, effectively preparing them for their professional careers. Our project focus includes resilience and material investigations, as well as innovative typologies and programs aimed at enhancing the built environment and improving the quality of life for its inhabitants. Our professional program, combined with a robust foundation in undergraduate and graduate research, enables us to implement action research in our design projects, positioning us as a think tank not only for local communities but also for industry, government, and non-profit organizations.
