Gets you into the Mendix job board with internships and full-time positions), register below and we will add you to our Microsoft Team for the Hackathon. The instructions are there. Mendix is the global leader in low-code mobile app platforms according to Gartner.

  • Make an app to support wellness. This can be interpreted broadly. You could bring awareness or help around mental health, financial literacy or regular exercise, mentstual health or any related issues (We have had apps in all these categories in prior events!).  There is a critical need for creativity and solutions in this area in society right now. You can help. Come even if you have little or no coding experience. You can learn to use the platform with the provided free training in mobile app development. Help students enhance their resume (There is a job market for the industry certification you will earn via Mendix). Get experience making a mobile app. Get access to the Mendix job board. Learn about low-code platforms from the top leader in the industry. See what is possible with the Mendix platform in healthcare below.

  • Team apps will be judged on the following criteria:

    1. 25% for the concept. Creativity and innovativeness. What will it do? Why does that matter? Is there research stating the world needs this? What are the use-cases?
    2. 25% for demonstrating a mock-up interface ... which can be done in Figma, Mendix or any tool of your choice.
    3. 25% for market and business strategy clarity. Identify who will use and pay for the tool, why it will be competitive among all other options out there, how it will generate revenue to cover its costs and maintain itself with udpates, etc. ... the business model and market strategy.
    4. 25% for completeness of prototype built in Mendix. Show your prototype in the Mendix platform and identify how much you got done as well as what was easy/challenging.
  • Last year, KSU hosted 108 students1 at Apps for Well-being. They created 18 different mobile apps. The apps addressed mental health, women’s health, fitness, financial health, and a variety of unique weight management, food, navigation, meditation and other topics. With your involvement we will enable and motivate students to learn these technologies and continue developing real solutions this year. This year’s event will take place April 4-5 at KSU Center with workshops and work time.
