Twenty years ago, Andy Puzder’s leadership helped turn things around for struggling restaurant brand Hardee’s. Recently, he shared that success story – as well as his own inspiring career journey – with business students at Kennesaw State University. Puzder, who served as CEO of CKE Restaurants from 2000 to 2017, spoke as part of the Michael J. Coles College of Business’s Tetley Distinguished Leader Lecture Series.

Kennesaw State Partners with Histroric Wilberforce University to Spur Entrepreneurship

ennesaw State University is teaming with one of the nation’s oldest historically Black universities to advance entrepreneurial and academic opportunities at both institutions. In a formal agreement, Kennesaw State’s Robin and Doug Shore Entrepreneurship Center in the Michael J. Coles College of Business will partner with Wilberforce University’s Mark and Shelly Wilson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation to promote entrepreneurial practices through student projects, faculty collaboration, research and mentorship during the 2021-22 academic year.

Former Kennesaw State Professor Recognized for Work Supporting Family Businesses

Although Joe Astrachan retired from Kennesaw State University four years ago, the prolific family business educator and researcher has never stopped being an Owl. The Emeritus Professor of Management and former director of Kennesaw State’s Cox Family Enterprise Center recently received two Schulze Publication Awards from Entrepreneur & Innovation Exchange, a top resource for peer-reviewed research on entrepreneurship.

Coles College Alumnus Chosen for International Exchange Program for Young Professionals

Ian McDonald, who earned a bachelor’s degree in international business from Kennesaw State’s Coles College of Business in 2020, left for Germany on July 31 to start the one-year Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals.

Kennesaw State's New Business Incubator Funds Six High-Tech Projects

Six innovative technology startups formed by Kennesaw State students and alumni are now one step closer to thousands of dollars in funding, having cleared the first milestone in the University’s Igniting New Companies (INC) business incubator. Supported by the Mookerji Innovation Fund – a $120,000 gift to Kennesaw State from technology entrepreneurs Sid and Sophie Mookerji – the INC invites students and alumni from across the University to apply for funding and development assistance for their tech-based businesses.
