Counseling and Psychological Services supports the academic mission of Kennesaw State University by enhancing students’ educational, career, personal and interpersonal development. We provide a wide range of service, including psychoeducational workshops aimed at helping students develop skills for managing the stress of college, group counseling focused on helping student better manage emotions and navigate their relationships, individual counseling for a wide range of mental wellness concerns, as well as psychiatric medication evaluation and treatment.

The Counseling Center offers several options for counseling including individual, couple, family, and group therapy. We can assist you if you are experiencing academic difficulties, anxiety, depression, family and relationship issues, emotional, identity issues, physical, and/or sexual abuse, stress, substance use/abuse, or any other concerns. We welcome feedback on our delivery of services to you, both on an informal basis and formally, through our periodic questionnaire. Counseling services are available to currently enrolled students and are provided by licensed, professional counselors. All services are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL.

Accessibility Services provides reasonable accommodations for documented disabilities to support student development and academic success. As defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a disability is a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities. In order to receive accommodations, the student’s disability must be verified in writing by a physician, psychiatrist/psychologist, or other qualified healthcare professional. The assignment of accommodation(s) is determined by the submission of appropriate documentation and based on the individual student evaluation.

The Trailblazer Locker at AMSC’s mission is to alleviate food hardships in the AMSC community by providing emergency food to AMSC students, faculty, and staff in need.
Creating a safe space to distribute good quality and nutritious emergency food to current AMSC students, faculty and staff. Creating and promoting a space on campus dedicated to food donation collection. Collecting good quality and nutritious food items (donations) that may otherwise go to waste to enhance sustainability initiatives on campus. Raising awareness around food insecurity issues, especially as experienced by low-income college students. Encouraging student engagement to foster a sense of community, volunteerism and service to peers on campus.
The Locker is open during normal business hours of the College. A campus Steward can assist students, faculty and staff with their needs as needed. However, the Trailblazer Locker is open for general operations every Friday from 12-3 pm. To be eligible for services you must be a current student, faculty or staff-member at AMSC. Please bring your current valid AMSC ID with you. The Campus Pantry is closed when the campus is closed for holidays, inclement weather events and during the summer.

Augusta University

We provide free and confidential mental health services for students using a brief and focused treatment model. This short-term model allows us to serve the greatest number of students with limited resources and can address a wide range of common concerns. The majority of students find that 1-6 sessions are effective in addressing their needs, with some receiving less, and some receiving more. We assist in making community referrals for students who could benefit from longer-term counseling (generally more than 8 sessions).

Counseling is provided in Tifton by two Licensed Professional Counselors, licensed through the Georgia Composite Board (Director: Ph.D- Counseling Psychology; Counselor L Ed.S.- Professional Counseling & Supervision) and both are Nationally Certified Counselors.
Counseling is provided in Bainbridge, Blakely, and Donalsonville by a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) who provides 24 hour on-call services at the three locations. In addition, outreach programming and awareness events are presented. This is a contracted service through an outside agency. Students meet with the LMSW at the instructional sites. Appointments can be made by calling the LMSW or via email.

College students normally experience many changes during their time at school. The pressures they experience may result from such things as: academic, social, emotional, career, developmental, financial, or spiritual concerns and can lead to many types of feelings, such as confusion, anxiety or depression. Counseling is a process by which students receive assistance from trained, experienced professionals who are knowledgeable about the types of problems students may face.
The College of Coastal Georgia provides free, short-term counseling to students who are currently attending classes at the time counseling is sought. Appointments are necessary.

CARE- Georgia Tech now has a single point of entry through which students will access mental health resources and services on campus and in the community. Located on the first floor of the Smithgall Student Services (Flag) Building, CARE is the primary resource for mental health support at Georgia Tech. Students seeking assistance from the Counseling Center or Stamps Psychiatry need to visit CARE first for a primary assessment and referral to on and off campus mental health and well-being resources.We realize that with so many great mental health and well-being resources on campus, it can be confusing to know when to go. It’s important that students are seen quickly and that they have access to all that Georgia Tech has to offer.

STAR Services-Students’ Temporary Assistance and Resources (STAR) is an organization that provides stability for students to pursue a fulfilling college experience. It does this by facilitating collaboration between organizations offering student support and increasing campus awareness of these programs. The Counseling Center at Georgia Southern University is where students can go to participate in programs and receive services designed to help them handle day-to-day challenges and encourage their personal growth and development. The Captain’s Cupboard is a food pantry that serves as an emergency food program for students, faculty, and staff in need. We offer a bag of food to those who are eligible every other week. We understand that everyone’s situation is different, and everyone has different needs. The Counseling Center educates students for life by providing a variety of services and programs that are consistent and consonant with the strategic plan goals of the Institution and the Division of Student Engagement and Success. Services include short-term individual counseling, group counseling, couples counseling, testing and assessment, crisis intervention, referral services, as well as outreach programming, and consultation for faculty and staff, family and friends of Georgia Southwestern State University students. Through our range of services, the Georgia Southwestern State University Counseling Center contributes to the overall goal… student success. Campus Life is proud to present the Canes Harvest Community Pantry. Located in the Student Success Center, our entrance is on the third floor in the housing suite. The Canes Harvest Community Pantry is a food pantry that provides food assistance to students, staff, and faculty. Making a choice between the food you need to sustain a healthy life and other pressing priorities is defined as food insecurity. Canes Harvest allow members of the GSW family the access to necessary food or supplies during difficult times. Canes Harvest is open Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.

The Counseling and Testing Center provides individual counseling sessions, group counseling, couples counseling and mind-body services that are free of charge to enrolled Georgia State University students.
Panther’s Pantry, located on the Atlanta campus, distributes food to eligible students who are currently enrolled and present a valid Georgia State student identification card. Students may pick up food as well as personal hygiene items once per week. Not only is the food free, but it is also nutritious as the pantry stocks a wide variety of dry and canned goods, fresh fruit, vegetables and yogurt.

The Counseling and Accessibility Services Office is a resource that offers several services to support students currently enrolled at Gordon State College. Counseling and Accessibility Services is located in the Student Center on the main campus in Barnesville. All services provided by Counseling and Accessibility Services are available to students free of charge. Any student attending any GSC campus may contact Counseling and Accessibility Services to make an appointment. The same services are provided to students attending some satellite campuses on an as needed basis. Counselors are regularly scheduled to see students attending the Henry County campus in McDonough, on a bi-weekly basis.

SHARE- Middle Georgia State students (and faculty and staff) may visit the food pantry once a month during the semester to pick up donated food items. SHARE stands for Serving, Helping And Respecting Everyone. The project reflects stewardship, one of the Middle Georgia State's core values. It also supports the state's Complete College Georgia initiative, which pushes colleges to remove barriers that stand in the way of student success. The SHARE pantry is stocked with staple food items such as canned tuna, peanut butter and spaghetti sauce. Many of the items were donated by students, faculty and staff.

Food Pantry Operations Updates
Blue Ridge Food Pantry - Open for pick up of non-perishable food items on Mondays and Thursdays. Email Sandy Ott for Monday pick up and Anna Speessen for Thursday pick up.
Cumming Food Pantry - UNG community can send an email for an appointment to coordinate the best service for them. Students also have a second option to schedule appointments and should indicate their interest in Food Pantry services.
Dahlonega Food Pantry - Available by appointment only. Please call 706-974-4940.
Gainesville Food Pantry - Open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for curbside pick up only. Please complete the Curbside Intake Form in English new window or the Curbside Intake Form in Spanish new window. Please submit orders at least one hour prior to your desired pick up time. Nighthawk Emergency Loan Program available to UNG students.
Established in fall 2017, the loan program is designed to provide relief to students experiencing unanticipated financial difficulty. The zero-interest loan allows students to stay in school and continue their studies while repaying the loan on a time frame based on each individual's financial situation.
The loan must be used for emergencies only. Tuition, on-campus housing, prior balances or study abroad payments are prohibited. Emergencies may include, but are not limited to:

Once the application is submitted, a member of the Student Affairs Office will reach out to you to provide support and resources available. (NOTE: The outreach will be within 24 university business hours - M-Thurs. from 8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Friday from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.)
If you need food assistance sooner than 24 hrs., please contact Niki Turley at 293-6203 for access to the Drop-n-Shop Food Pantry during normal university business hours.

Meal pass to Palms Dining Hall. If you or a friend need a meal, please stop by the Student Leadership & Volunteer Services Office (3rd floor of the Student Union, suite 3118). Mention the Palms guest meal ticket and one of our staff members will be happy to assist. You must be a full-time VSU student, and please bring your OneCard with you.

VSU Cares: Financial Hardship Assistance- VSU Cares Grants are designed to assist students (undergraduate and graduate) in overcoming a short-term financial hardship (including the COVID-19 crisis) in order for them to maintain their enrollment, and is managed through VSU's Division of Student Affairs.
Awards will be determined based on the established criteria outlined in the application. Award amount will be determined based on the request, proof of need, and available funds. Most awards are no more than $500 but will not exceed $1,000, unless extenuating circumstances warrant a higher amount.
